In 2005 a group of local artists set up a non-profit making resource agency for artists and makers in the Arun area. (Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Arundel). Called Arun supplementary Arts Projects, it set out

• to address needs, identify resources and put talented and enthusiastic artists to work;

   

• to take best practise in the areas of business assessment and training; information exchange; promotion and funding; arts theory and assessment; and put them all together;

   

• to provide a forum in which issues of value, relevance and vision can be shared and explored;

   

• to create an evolving organisation arising from and responding to the environment, in which the design and realisation of arts projects are integrated. 

    

What does that mean?

It means providing :-

• an information exchange, with Artist & Makers Database

• a skills pool, providing exchangeable expertise, especially in fund raising;
• access to promotional tools and people;
• assessment and learning resources;
• and production facilities (places, people, materials) in which raw ideas can be turned into marketable products.
